President Kovind administered the oath to the new CJI, in which several dignitaries including Vice President Naidu, Prime Minister Modi, Cabinet Minister and Manmohan Singh were present. (G.N.S) Dt. 18 New Delhi Supreme Court Judge Justice Sharad Arvind Bobde was sworn in as the Chief Justice of the country today. He succeeded Justice Ranjan Gogoi. Justice Gogoi retires on 17th November.
