COVID-19: Delhi reports 1,366 new cases; Mumbai records 58 deaths in 24 hours
Delhi on Wednesday reported 1,366 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours with the total number of cases rising to 31,309.
There have been 905 fatalities due to COVID-19 in India’s capital. The health department said that there were 18,543 active cases with 11,861 patients having recovered from the virus.
Meanwhile, Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal who had quarantined himself over COVID-19-like symptoms tested negative.
Maharashtra recorded 2,259 coronavirus cases and 120 deaths on Tuesday with the total number of cases in the state rising to 90,787. The death toll due to the virus has now reached 3,289 in the state.
Mumbai which is one of the hardest hit cities due to the virus recorded 1,015 new coronavirus cases and 58 deaths in the last 24 hours. The number of coronavirus cases in India’s financial capital has now reached 50,878.
West Bengal reported 372 COVID-19 cases with the total number of cases rising to 8,985, including 4,950 active cases, the state health department said. There have been 415 deaths due to the virus in the state.
In India’s north-eastern state of Assam, 215 new coronavirus cases were reported taking the total number of cases to 3050. The state health minister Biswa Sarma informed that there were 1,945 active cases in the state.
